Your words could put a smile
On a broken, saddened face,
Or your words could cause that smile to break
From the face so full of life.

Words from you of all the people
At the moment deeply pains me.
Cut, slash and slice at me,
from you I did not expect.

Words are strong, words take affect.
Be careful what you utter.
Protect our tongues oh Mighty Allah,
Protect us and our words.
Make us of the people, whose words are full of You
And keep our words from hurting the people who we love.
